Alex Bramall is a talented photographer and filmmaker who was born in 1978 in Dorset and currently based in London, England. He shoots a lot of fashion, beauty, celebrity and portrait photography. Alex studied Fine Art and Photography at Oxford Brookes University.
Following his studies he went on to work for Sotheby’s and Bonhams auction houses as well as the art department at British Vogue magazine. It was at Vogue that he came in to contact with some of the worlds most high profile fashion photographers, working with their images and falling in love with the medium. He left the magazine to take employment as the art director at Mario Testino’s studio, working alongside brands such as Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Estee Lauder, Givenchy, Michael Kors, Versace and Valentino, as well as international editions of Vogue, Vanity Fair and V Magazine.
Bramall went on to become Testino’s director of books and exhibitions, in his time producing nine books and 26 exhibitions worldwide. In this role he not only produced but organised and oversaw the curation of record breaking Testino exhibitions around the world at institutions such as the Museuo Thyssen-Bornemisza (Madrid), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), the Shanghai Art Museum (Shanghai, China), Foam Museum of Photography (Amsterdam) and the Metropolitan Museum of Photography (Tokyo) among many others.
Since leaving Testino’s studio to pursue a career in photography, Bramall has had his work published in American Vogue, Vogue Italia, Vogue Russia, Vanity Fair Spain, Harpers Bazaar UK, Tatler, Wonderland, Rollacoaster Magazine, The Edit and Porter as well as receiving commissions from the British Fashion Council and BAFTA.
