Antonis Achilleos grew up on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, surrounded by the sea, luscious food and a bevy of generous, gifted artists. His father and two uncles are professional photographers; his aunt a sculptor and even more relatives are painters. From a young age he was encouraged to hone his skills of observation and Intuition. A passion and appreciation for art was as much a part of his daily life as the ocean breeze, flip-flops and salt cod. Meals for Cypriots often became daily feasts, which helped shape Antonis’ passion and appreciation for food and community.

In 1988 Antonis mcNed to New York to study his craft at the Rochester institute of Technology. Since graduation, he has lived in New York City, the epicenter of publishing and advertising, to learn from the best and establish his budding career.

Drawn to the beautiful simplicity of great food, fashion and home décor, his images mimic his own Interests. Antonls states, 9 love the challenge of taking something ordinary and transforming It into something extraordlnary. His still ilfes and tabletop work has since appeared in a myriad of publications, with his most iconic Images gracing the covers of Bon Appétit, Food and Wine, Food Network Magazine, Metropolitan Home, Real Simple and Martha Stewart Living. He has also photographed several popular cookbooks for Chronicle Books including Top Chef, Milk & Cookies and Whoopie Pies.
