Bon Duke is a talented photographer, filmmaker and director who was born and raised in NYC and currently based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Bon received his BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts and recently completed his Masters in Fashion Photography while on full scholarship. Duke’s work has been featured in New York Times Magazine, Korean Vogue, Korean Elle, Korean Cosmopolitan, Nylon Magazine, Moda Operandi and many others.
Bon now teaches fashion film-making to the graduate BFA students at SVA and is co-founder and co-curator of The New York Fashion Film Festival, established in 2010 and held annually since.
When I cast models for fashion shoots, I always want to choose the model that has character. There has to be a life or soul to them. In my portraiture, that’s what I’m seeking.
