A native of Ireland, Deirdre Brennan worked as a documentary photographer and photo journalist in New York for 13 years and returned to live in Dublin in 2008. On contract with The New York Times since 2000 her work has been published throughout the world in titles such as The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, American Photography, Newsweek, Marie Claire, Stern and The London Times. Deirdre was recently named “Ten Women Who Wrote History With Their Cameras” by French Marie Claire. Nominations include the World Press Photo Master Class and The New York Photo Awards.
Deirdre currently combines a documentary and commercial career in Dublin. Deirdre’s current documentary project is “Ulysses Map Of Dublin” using the Ulysses map of Dublin and the structure of the novel as a vehicle to document the modern capital.
