Portraits of Redheads by Hanne van der Woude

Portraits of Redheads by Hanne van der Woude

In the last four years Hanne van der Woude has been following the lives of Emmy, her husband Ben and Ben’s brother Egbert, who are all in their eighties. Hanne both photographed and filmed Emmy en Ben’s private lives. She joined them on their holiday to the south of France where they visited Egbert. When the latter fell ill and moved in with Ben and Emmy, Hanne was often there. And so was she when Ben fell ill and Emmy looked after him until he died.

Besides the photographs, film and sound material there are letters and documents resulting in an exhitibion in Museum for Photography Huis Marseille, Amsterdam in 2015. In addition Hanne is working on a book exhibiting photography, film stills and documents. Hans Gremmen will do the graphic design. In order to realize this book a crowdfunding will be started shortly.
