Jenny Gage and Tom Betterton are a couple and photography duo whose collaboration in photography and film has brought a seductive, cinematic aesthetic to their projects in the words of art, fashion and advertising. Gage and Betterton are artists constantly fascinated by the fine line between documentary and artifice, and here they employ their signature narrative style to craft an achingly honest and thrillingly intimate body of portraits.

They first started showing their work at Luhring Augustine gallery in NYC and were then commissioned by Dennis Friedman at W magazine to shoot their first of many fashion editorials.

Since then their editorial work has included stories for W magazine, Vogue Nippon, Self Service, Vanity Fair and Italian Vogue. They have collaborated on advertising campaigns for Ralph Lauren, JC Penny, Estée Lauder, Kiki de Montparnasse, Missoni, Piazza Sempione, IBM, Margaret Howell and Sony.

Their photography and films have shown in galleries and museums throughout the world and recently published a photography monograph entitled “Upstairs, Downstairs and Outside.”

Jenny was raised in Malibu, California and received her MFA in photography at Yale University. Tom Betterton was raised in Lawrenceville, NJ and studied art at Dartmouth College. They live in Brooklyn, NY.
