Liat Aharoni is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto. Her specialization in political science has contributed to her exploration of issues related to womanhood, struggle, and identity in diverse circumstances. As a self-taught photographer born artistically in April 2012, she is influenced by such narratives and seeks to elevate them beyond realism into surreal and fictional imagery. Her work elicits a visceral response that is catalyzed by its ethereal and haunting qualities. She strives to pay homage to the concept of balance in life by portraying dualities between the grotesque and beautiful, in a manner which is both celebratory and reflective of humankind.
