For his “Ordinary Backdrops” project Louise de Belle captured the beauty of the ordinary of Japanese cities that embrace imperfection.
Ordinary Backdrops is a photographic series shot in Japan. The photographs stand for a sense of plasticity which belongs to ordinary yet unusual views of the suburban scenario. They represent a “state of things”: backdrops of everyday life, waiting for something to happen, yet being already protagonists of a careful composition.
