Mike Powell has lived and breathed photography for 25 years. He got his start in the challenging world of sports photography at age 17, where often only natural light, a sharp eye, and a split second are available to get the shot.

Covering world-class athletes competing in world-class events, Mike has developed an uncanny ability to capture the elegance, emotion, and art of the human body in motion. He has shot over 15 Olympic Games (Summer + Winter), 9 Tour de France races, as well as the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup tournament for Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, and ESPN Magazine. In 2012, Oakley sent Mike around the world to shoot Olympians while they trained for the London Games for their award-winning campaign, Beyond Reason.
