National Geographic has launched it’s 2016 Nature Photographer of the Year contest. The prestigious contest is accepting entries in the following categories; Landscape, Environmental Issues, Action and Animal Portraits. The contest National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year 2016 is open until November 4, 2016, and the winners will be announced in December.
The contest website says “We’re looking for photos that showcase the awe-inspiring and diverse natural world around us. That could be a powerful wildlife shot, a stunning landscape, or a look at a complicated environmental issue—whatever nature means to you.”
The grand-prize winner will receive a 10-day trip for two to the Galápagos with National Geographic Expeditions and two 15-minute image portfolio reviews with National Geographic photo editors.
These 15 images are in the running to take out the prestigious 2016 National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year contest, which highlights the beauty of the natural world around us.
