Nick Albertson received his MFA in Photography at Columbia College Chicago (2013) after completing his BA in Photography at Bard College. His work has been exhibited in Chicago, Portland, Seattle, New York and internationally at the Pingyao International Photo Festival.

Albertson strips utilitarian objects such as, rubber bands, plastic straws, and paper napkins, of their intended functions. Items with little visual intrigue are reorganized and remade to have a powerful aesthetic impact.

Using photography, video and sculpture, Albertson repurposes the household commodities and strategically borrows from the Readymade and Modernist traditions.
