Nicholas Routzen is a fashion photographer and filmmaker, specializing in high fashion, advertising, and commercial campaigns. Based out of New York City, this Southern California native brings to his work a stark stripped-down artistry that allows him to take the kind of raw and contrasting images that are known to break all molds and stereotypes within the industry. Having grown up with a strong exposure to surf culture and heavy influences of rock music, Routzen’s dynamic and talent behind the lens shines through in the attitude he is able to pervade on set and instill in his subjects. Known for his strong and sexy spreads in such celebrated and fashion-forward magazines as Elle, L’OFFICIEL, Nylon, Esquire, Bullett, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Inked, WWD, and Health Magazine – in addition to major web and ad campaigns for Bebe, Bloomingdales, Halston, Nike, Universal, Sony, Kevork Kiledjian, REEF, Ritz-Carlton, R/GA, Geren Ford, and Robert Geller – Routzen is constantly progressing and cultivating his natural ability with the camera, whether it’s through achieving perfect lighting or seamlessly adapting to any shoot location worldwide.
In addition to his iconic photographs and fashion films, Routzen is responsible for the successful launch of his charity benefitting underprivileged inner-city youth, “Fashion For Passion”, as well as the explosive launch of his collaborative fashion brand, “Le Beau.”
