Ori Gersht is a talented fine art photographer, filmmaker and lecturer, who was born in Tel Aviv three months before the Six-Day War in 1967, and currently based in London, UK. Gersht studied Photography, Film and Video at the University of Westminister before graduating with an M.A. in Photography from the Royal College of Art, London. Ori has imagined the confluence of technology and artistic production at its logical extremes, reconstructing classic still life compositions of flowers and fruit only to explode them and capture the moment of destruction with a high-speed camera. Ori shoots without filters or other manipulation. These are photographs of mirrors that are reflecting flowers, caught at an extremely high shutter speed while they are being electrocuted to the point of explosion.
