Born near Basel, Switzerland, Patrick Lienin is a photographer and ecologist (PhD) who grew up in Germany, until moving to the US in 2012. He studied Environmental sciences at the University of Trier (Germany) and Lund University (Sweden), followed by his PhD studies in Landscape Ecology at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. He went on to work as a professional researcher at the University of Connecticut in 2012.
Over the past 10 years his passion and interest in photography progressed and he became a professional photographer producing personal and professional photography projects as a freelancing artist. In 2014 Patrick started focusing more on pursuing his photography career alongside his academic career.
